		<description>It was brought to my attention by a reader of this blog that we had incorrectly characterized Metasploit as malware.   The reader was absolutely correct in pointing this out to us.  Nothing could be farther from the truth and I really don&#039;t want us to be guilty of propagating this fallacy.  Metasploit is a wonderful framework that pen-testers the world over use in order to test and validate their security.  

I personally know many individuals who benefit from tighter security that was brought to their attention by tools such as metasploit.   I have made some changes to the text in the blog entry above and I want everyone to know that I most certainly do not look at metasploit as a malware product.
